Dr. Bradley will be a featured plenary speaker and panel discussion leader at The Vibrant Dance of Faith and Science: Empowering the Church to Transform the Culture Symposium, October 26-28, 2010. Other confirmed speakers include Hugh Ross, Fazale Rana, Deborah Haarsma, Dinesh D’Souza, and Stephen Meyer. The symposium will assist non-scientist pastors and Christian leaders in their understanding of current scientific issues; the nature of scientific inquiry and the limits of science; responding to the misuse of science to further naturalistic beliefs; the nurture and care of the scientific person; and engaging and transforming the culture in science and faith matters.
Dr. Bradley received his B.S. in Engineering Science and his Ph.D. in Materials Science, both from the University of Texas at Austin. He taught for eight years as an Assistant/Associate professor of Metallurgical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines before becoming a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University in 1976 where Dr. Bradley was the Director of the Polymer Science and Engineering Program and served as Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, a department of 67 faculty members. He currently serves as Distinguished Professor of Engineering at Baylor University. He is a Fellow of the Hill Country Institute for Contemporary Christianity and The Discovery Institute.
Dr. Bradley has spoken at over 60 university campuses around the world on faith and science issues. In addition to his engineering academic papers, Dr. Bradley has authored several books and Christian apologetic articles including, The Mystery of Life’s Origin: Reassessing Current Theories (with Charles Thaxton, Roger L. Olsen, and Dean H. Kenyon), “Is There Scientific Evidence for the Existence of God?” , “The Trustworthiness of Scripture in Areas Related to Natural Science,” and “Designed or Designoid”. He is also actively involved in developing sustainable technology and business models for coconuts to be used to provide income and economic vitality to underdeveloped countries.
